Spring Devourers
After being shunned, the cult victim faces a faith crisis. Her only crime was performing a miracle, and now she’s stuck with this unbearable freedom.
My name is Karolina Kajetanowicz. I’m a filmmaker looking for a studio or a producer to collaborate on my new project.
It’s a story about encountering divinity in nature while breaking away from a biophilic cult. Visually, it will embrace absurdity and humor, yet I aim to depict spiritual abuse and the intimacy of existential struggles with honesty. This film is about preserving hope, kindness, and a sense of wonder amidst profound chaos.
Animation tests
The film will be 8 to 11 minutes long, animated in digital 2D with elements drawn on paper. I’m already working on the script and storyboard, but I don’t have funding or a producer yet. Ideally, I’d like to find a studio to produce it, but securing support for development alone would also be great. Idea and why it matters
I want to make a film about spirituality—not as a weakness, nor something to be dismissed as irrelevant in today’s world. And not as a glorified concept that will save the world either. I want to portray spirituality as something that makes us vulnerable, yet remains profoundly precious.
Something intimate and valuable, susceptible to manipulation, yet ultimately innocent in its purest form. I want to confront the beauty it brings—a promise, a mystery we yearn for. At the same time, I want to reveal how the most vulnerable parts of ourselves can be exploited. It’s also a story about leaving a cult and navigating the pain and discomfort of a shattered worldview.
